This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Dan Gable! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 2 losses; Frank Dux! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Dux tries to keep at a distance but Gable has taken the fight into the clinch.
Dux pulls guard. Gable won't allow Dux to sweep him here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gable stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dux swivels though and keeps the full guard. Dux trying to control the position.
Gable tries to free his leg and advance position but Dux is retaining full guard. Dux is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Dux can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gable controls the pace. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Dux holds on and takes a little breather. We've been hearing that Gable has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. And that's the end of the fight! Dux wins on points by 2 to 0. A very excited looking Frank Dux made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction. |
