Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cain Mercer (ranked 3368 p4p, 25701 weight class) and Eduardo Rose (ranked 260 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rose's choice of entrance music: God safe the king. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cain Mercer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Eduardo Rose!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rose misses with a takedown attempt - Mercer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mercer slaps away a takedown attempt from Rose, before circling back to the center of the mat.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Rose is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mercer lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Rose wants to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rose is trying to maintain the position but Mercer is very close to passing his half guard.
Mercer throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Rose tries to roll over but Mercer keeps him under control.
Rose is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Mercer looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rose with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Mercer throws a strike but Rose avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Mercer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rose has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mercer has managed to get both his arms back between Rose's legs - danger averted.
Rose is still in real trouble! Can Mercer finish him?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mercer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rose works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Mercer postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Rose covers up, he's hurt! Mercer keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Mercer and the ref steps in to end the fight! Mercer can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cain Mercer!
In his post fight interview, Cain Mercer gave a big smile as he said '"I don’t fight for fame. I fight because this is what I was made to do.'.
Eduardo Rose was interviewed post fight and said 'It's the lowest I can go from here it's only up'.
