Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, John Wick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ikemba Okoye!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okoye throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wick sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Wick lands a body shot.
Wick takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Wick with the inside leg kick.
Wick looks to land a right hand but Okoye moved out of range.
Wick lunges at Okoye with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Okoye's hand.
Wick jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Okoye displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wick throws out the jab.
Okoye moves away from the strike by Wick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Okoye slips a jab and a cross from Wick.
Okoye works the jab nicely.
Wick is rocked!
Wick looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Wick gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Okoye points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Wick wakes up just in time to hear Okoye thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ikemba Okoye!
Our winner, Ikemba Okoye, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
