Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leland Giles (ranked 2642 p4p, 1985 weight class) and Pykky Kalla (ranked 280 p4p, 230 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Leland Giles has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Leland Giles seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 30 - 2, fighting out of New York, Leland Giles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pykky Kalla!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksandr Martynov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giles swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kalla looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Kalla changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Giles tries to avoid it but Kalla manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Giles to the ground. Giles escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

We've been hearing good reports from Giles's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Giles lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Pykky Kalla seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kalla fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Giles manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Giles looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kalla with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Giles lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Kalla! More strikes land and this one is all over! Giles jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

After winning the bout, Leland Giles thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
