This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 5 losses; Jasper Leeuwenhoek!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Chai bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Chai (4) vs (0) Leeuwenhoek

Chai looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leeuwenhoek tries to hold on but Chai pushes him away.

We've been hearing good reports from Chai's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Chai has his foot on Leeuwenhoek's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Leeuwenhoek works his way back into a safe position though.

Chai can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Leeuwenhoek controls the pace.
Leeuwenhoek got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chai has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Leeuwenhoek has managed to get both his arms back between Chai's legs - danger averted.

Chai has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Leeuwenhoek can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
