Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alexey Markov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Baariq Taïa!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taïa drives through and clinches with Markov against the cage.
Taïa trying to land knees to the body.
Markov tries to break the clinch but Taïa is controlling the position.
Taïa tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Markov avoids it.
Taïa misses with a knee strike.
Taïa with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Taïa tries to land a knee to the head but Markov blocks with his arms.
Markov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Taïa cracks Markov with a good jab.
Taïa's coach down at Mentor Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Taïa's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Markov changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Taïa tries for a takedown but Markov circles away easily
and Markov counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Taïa looks winded!
Taïa uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Markov.
Taïa doesn't manage to clinch there - Markov circles away.
Taïa misses the shot to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Markov. Taïa does a little dance to reset his feet.
Markov misses with a straight left.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Taïa tests Markov's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Taïa has his takedown stuffed
and Markov counters with a left to the body.
Markov leaves Taïa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Alexey Markov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Baariq Taïa.
Taïa closes the distance but Markov moves to the side
and Markov counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Markov dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Markov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Taïa circles away quickly and effectively.
Baariq Taïa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Markov stuffs the takedown.
Markov swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Taïa tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Markov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Markov throws a hook to the side of Taïa's head but Taïa sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Alexey Markov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Taïa tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Markov defends well and Taïa ends up having to push Markov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
A little feinted left hand from Markov on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Taïa shoots and misses
and Markov counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Baariq Taïa has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Taïa wants to clinch
and Markov counters with a stiff right hand.
Taïa misses with a body shot
and Markov counters with a nice right hand that sends Taïa toppling to the canvas! Taïa scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Markov finish him?!
Markov shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Taïa takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Markov sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Taïa bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!
