Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kaique Veltran (ranked 3349 p4p, 4956 weight class) and Ash Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ash Stevenson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kaique Veltran! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ash Stevenson! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stevenson connects with a single shot there.
 It looks like Kaique Veltran has been cut. Veltran ducks under a wild hook from Stevenson.
Veltran throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stevenson was covering up waiting for the punch and Veltran finishes the takedown easily into guard. Veltran looking to pass the guard. Veltran is working hard here to advance position.
Veltran drops back, looking for a kneebar! Stevenson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Stevenson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Stevenson!
 The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stevenson wants to control but Veltran is keeping him busy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. What's Veltran going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle. Stevenson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Sloppy strikes there by Stevenson. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Veltran is holding Stevenson down, trying to stall. Stevenson trying to control the action but Veltran is working from the bottom. Both fighters take a look at the clock. Veltran managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Stevenson.
Veltran is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Stevenson has just dragged him back down to the mat. Veltran tries to get back to half guard but can't. Stevenson trying to control the action but Veltran is working from the bottom. Veltran regains half guard, as Stevenson was trying to land strikes.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Stevenson is trying to control. Veltran wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Veltran makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Veltran. Veltran lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Veltran showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Stevenson wants to stand and escape but Veltran is having none of it. Veltran slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Veltran might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Veltran pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stevenson is keeping the position for now. Veltran wants to control from the top but Stevenson keeps moving. Stevenson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Veltran postures up in Stevenson's guard and throws a big left but Stevenson blocks it. Stevenson wants to sweep but no luck. Veltran pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stevenson is keeping the position for now. Stevenson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Veltran accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Veltran won't allow Stevenson to get back to his feet. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Stevenson keeping full guard, as Veltran tries to pass.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Veltran drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Stevenson looks winded! Veltran sitting in guard here, content to control. Stevenson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Veltran. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Veltran thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Veltran forces his way into half guard. Stevenson is staying active underneath Veltran, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Veltran shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Stevenson's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Veltran accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Veltran tries to free his leg and advance position but Stevenson is retaining full guard. Veltran content to stall in guard here. Veltran slips nicely into half guard.
Veltran is looking for a kimura but Stevenson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Veltran to get the leverage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Veltran lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Veltran controlling the action here.

Veltran is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stevenson sees it coming and defends easily. Kaique Veltran overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Veltran wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stevenson keeps working. Well, if Veltran is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Veltran is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stevenson defends it well.

Veltran drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Stevenson dives on top into guard.
Veltran looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Veltran seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Veltran looking for a sweep. Not yet Veltran, not yet. Stevenson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Veltran pulls Stevenson in close to prevent any damage. Veltran is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Stevenson can do to turn this around?
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
 The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Veltran displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stevenson throws out the jab.

Veltran drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stevenson bucks up and tries to throw Veltran off but instead Veltran has got his back! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Veltran keeps control of the position easily here as Stevenson tries to buck him off.

Veltran is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Stevenson has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Veltran has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Stevenson taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Veltran doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kaique Veltran! Kaique Veltran very nearly forgot to thank Squirrel Sportswear ðŸ¿ï¸ amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name.
