And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elian Osborn!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Chekov misses the target.
Chekov misses with the body kick
and Osborn counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Left hook, right uppercut from Osborn.
Chekov throws a sloppy head kick and Osborn moves out of range easily.
Chekov ducks under a wild hook from Osborn.
A head kick by Chekov misses
and Osborn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Osborn ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Osborn throws an off balance right hand
and Chekov counters with a nice body shot.
Chekov lands a big head kick that sends Osborn tumbling to the mat! Chekov takes a step backwards and waves Osborn back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Osborn is rocked!
It looks like Elian Osborn has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Osborn walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Osborn limp body while Chekov jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Pavel Chekov!
After the fight, Pavel Chekov was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
