Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Prescott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Baki Hanma!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prescott misses with an uppercut. Hanma saw that one coming.
Hanma is looking to clinch.
Hanma tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Prescott counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Prescott swats away the attempt to clinch by Hanma.
Prescott swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
A looping hook to the body misses from Prescott. Hanma does a little dance to reset his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Prescott throws a predictable looking body shot
and Hanma counters with a nice double leg into side control. Prescott won't be happy with that.
Hanma working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Prescott defending against the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hanma is working to tighten his grip on Prescott's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Prescott has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Hanma is really squeezing tight and eventually Prescott passes out! Hanma breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
