Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Thiago Mendes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Milo Wilkinson!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Wilkinson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Thiago Mendes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Wilkinson. No joy for Mendes on that attempt.
It seemed like Wilkinson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
We've been hearing reports that Mendes has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Mendes shoots for a double leg takedown but Wilkinson sprawls well. He's pushed Mendes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
It seemed like Wilkinson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Mendes cracks Wilkinson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Wilkinson wants to control but Mendes is having none of it.
Wilkinson has left one of his arms exposed and Mendes doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Wilkinson screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
