CFC Rio 3 PBP Commentary |
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 2 losses; Frankie Mir! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 18 wins and 16 losses; Kent Dew! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Mir stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mir wants it to stay on the feet. Mir is looking to counter the offense by Dew and move into the clinch.
Dew manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mir on his heels. He'll look to pass Mir's guard now, I'm sure. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Mir (0) vs (2) Dew Mir looking for a sweep. Not yet Mir, not yet.
Mir is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Dew rolls with it to try and escape but Mir cranks on the arm and Dew is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Frankie Mir! During a confident post fight interview, Frankie Mir thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. |
