Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Finley Savage (ranked 4128 p4p, 2385 weight class) and Steven Chen (ranked 383 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Steven Chen was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Chen.
Savage moves away from the strike by Chen.
A looping hook to the body misses from Chen. Savage does a little dance to reset his feet.
Chen swings for the body but Savage moves out of range.
Savage closes the distance and clinches.
Savage fails to pull guard.
Savage breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Chen takes a swing at Savage's ribcage but misses.

and Savage counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Chen thinking.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chen will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Savage up against the cage.

Savage is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Chen to keep the fight standing.

Chen is pushing Savage up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Chen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Savage has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Chen is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Savage.
Savage is trying to control Chen's posture but Chen avoids it.

Chen circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Savage to the canvas! Savage doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Chen keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
