Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rod Souto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mark cunns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as mark cunns enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rod Souto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, mark cunns!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

cunns clinches.
Souto looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Souto could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
cunns is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Souto misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
cunns is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

cunns is squirming around, avoiding Souto's attempts to control the action.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Souto closes this distance looking for a takedown but cunns circles away.
cunns tries to close the distance and clinch up but Souto swats him away and circles back towards the center.

cunns trying to stand up but can't free himself from Souto's guard.

Souto working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. cunns doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. cunns manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
cunns really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Souto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

cunns stands up from guard. Let's bang!

cunns breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Souto keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Souto creates some space and throws a big elbow, but cunns sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
cunns is not content to let Souto control the position.

Souto thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

cunns prevents Souto from moving into mount.

Souto lands a few punches from side control.
cunns is trying to get back to his feet.
cunns tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Souto moves to back control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

cunns is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Souto drops back looking for a leg! cunns is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and cunns manages to kick Souto off! Souto jumps back into cunns's guard.

cunns is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Souto stands up and waves to cunns to follow him.
cunns jabs Souto right on the nose. Souto blinks but takes it well.

Souto goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, cunns rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Souto's guard! Nice work there by cunns!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That was a close second round but I would say that Rod Souto will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Souto, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
