Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Marvin Hagler (ranked 24080 p4p, 2969 weight class) and Sam Canasta (ranked 456 p4p, 318 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marvin Hagler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Canasta! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Canasta throws a body shot but no joy. Sam Canasta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A nice leg kick from Canasta, right into the meat of the thigh.
Hagler throws a hook but Canasta avoids it easily. Hagler tries a head kick but it misses.
Hagler throws a lazy right hand but Canasta sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Hagler slips a jab from Canasta. Canasta jabbing away but nothing is landing. Hagler walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Hagler throws a big shot that misses. A cross from Canasta lands. Canasta bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. An inside leg kick lands from Hagler. Hagler misses with an uppercut. Canasta saw that one coming. Canasta misses with a left hand and Hagler counters with a stiff right hand. Hagler slips a straight right by Canasta. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Canasta slips a jab from Hagler. Canasta has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Hagler is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Canasta's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Canasta's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hagler under the eye. Hagler staying out of range there. An attempted straight right counter from Hagler misses the target. Canasta throws a sloppy head kick and Hagler moves out of range easily. It looked like Hagler was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Canasta. Hagler blocks a jab. Hagler looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Hagler uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Canasta has time to react. Hagler is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Hagler pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Hagler throws a nice looking combination but Canasta bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hagler avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Hagler swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Canasta misses with a hook. Canasta uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hagler. The fighters circling - Hagler throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Hagler takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Canasta is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hagler. Hagler checks the leg kick nicely there.

 Canasta is rocked! Hagler tries a head kick but it misses.
Canasta is still on wobbly legs! Can Hagler finish him? The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Canasta is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Hagler doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Canasta crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Canasta's bad books for that mishap!
