The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carmont throws a body shot but no joy.
Hodges has closed the distance and engaged Carmont in a clinch.
Carmont is working for takedown but Hodges is calmly controlling the position for now.
We've been hearing reports that Carmont has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Hodges gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Carmont.

Carmont doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Hodges rushes Carmont and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Hodges.

Carmont fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hodges manages to avoid it.

Hodges clinches up with Carmont and pushes him back against the cage.

Carmont has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hodges avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
