Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andy Ettish (ranked 1961 p4p, 3164 weight class) and Jake Everett (ranked 202 p4p, 300 weight class). Jake Everett is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Andy Ettish! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Everett! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Everett swings and misses with a shot to the body letting Ettish counter with a right hand. Everett keeps the fight on the outside. Ettish looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Everett throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ettish fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Everett, pushing him back against the cage.
Everett manages to break the clinch.
Everett circles away from the clinch attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Everett. Ettish does a little dance to reset his feet. Everett swings widly with a right hand
and Ettish counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Everett tries to keep at a distance but Ettish has taken the fight into the clinch. Everett stalling against the cage.
Ettish is trying to pull guard but Everett has him pressed against the cage. Ettish misses with a hook to the ribs.
Ettish tries to work over Everett's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Ettish lands with a left to the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ettish blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Everett lands a body punch in the clinch. Everett prevents a body shot from Ettish. Ettish tries to pull guard but Everett holds him up against the cage and eventually Ettish drops back down to his feet.

I was talking to Ettish's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andy Ettish. A left lands for Everett. Nice defenses there by Ettish. It looked like Ettish wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Nice uppercut lands for Everett. That snapped Ettish's head back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Everett bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Ettish tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Everett paws at him with a jab and circles away. Everett thows a left - swing and a miss! It looked like Ettish was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Jake Everett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Everett connects with a single shot there. Everett keeps the fight on the outside. Everett has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Ettish takes one to the side of the head.

Everett might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Everett throws a jab when Ettish was well out of range.

Jake Everett dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ettish was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Ettish has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Ettish looks to move to half guard but instead Everett has passed into mount! Damn! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Everett prevents Ettish from getting the reversal. Everett can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ettish is looking to escape.

Ettish strikes from the bottom but Everett takes advantage and advances to full mount! Ettish is trying desperately to improve position. Jake Everett is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
