Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Trent Richards! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yael Raymond! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Richards dives in and grabs Raymond's left leg, looking for a takedown. Raymond pushes down on Richards's head and hops out.
Richards shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Raymond manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Raymond working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Richards. Raymond seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Raymond utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Richards tries to free his leg and advance position but Raymond is retaining full guard. Richards slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Raymond sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Raymond tries to roll over but Richards keeps him under control.
Richards is trying to work for a kimura but Raymond is defending well.
Richards throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Raymond really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Richards. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Richards is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Raymond defends it well. Raymond wants to get back to full guard. Richards lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Richards thows a huge punch but Raymond dodges it nicely.

Raymond looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Richards missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Raymond can do anything to dispel that myth.
Richards is working for a kimura but Raymond is defending it quite comfortably.
Raymond moves into full guard.
Richards sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Raymond's guard.
Richards looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Raymond looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Richards winds up and cracks Raymond with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
