Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kesse Nesse (ranked 1919 p4p, 3600 weight class) and Lars Gunnar Ekberg (ranked 227 p4p, 364 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kesse Nesse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lars Gunnar Ekberg!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nesse moves into the clinch.
Nesse has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Ekberg after a bit of a struggle.
Nesse goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ekberg prevents it.
Ekberg prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kesse Nesse. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nesse is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Ekberg to keep the fight standing.

Ekberg pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nesse closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ekberg circles away.
Ekberg lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nesse wants to clinch up but Ekberg keeps it at a distance.
Ekberg looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Nesse tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ekberg sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nesse somewhat.

Ekberg throws a body punch but Nesse moves out of range.
Ekberg throws a nice looking combination but Nesse bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nesse tries to counter with a takedown but Ekberg is quick to defend against it.
Ekberg misses with an uppercut

and Nesse counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Ekberg!
Ekberg is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Nesse scores with punches from side control.
Nesse has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ekberg is trying to get back to his feet.

Nesse is trying to get an arm triangle but Ekberg is defending well.
Ekberg pushes Nesse away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Nesse gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Nesse is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ekberg knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Nesse working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Ekberg felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Nesse is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ekberg knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Ekberg is trying to buck Nesse off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ekberg is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Nesse will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Nesse has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ekberg is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Nesse yanks on the arm and Ekberg is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Nesse.
