Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daichi Tanaka (ranked 3776 p4p, 24801 weight class) and Grant Gunterson (ranked 304 p4p, 378 weight class). Grant Gunterson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daichi Tanaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grant Gunterson!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanaka thumps Gunterson with a low kick.
Tanaka avoids the body shot from Gunterson.
Tanaka was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Gunterson shoots in and gets a takedown into Tanaka's guard.
Tanaka looking to control.
Tanaka escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gunterson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Tanaka seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Tanaka has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gunterson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Tanaka is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gunterson defends well.
Gunterson tries to stand but Tanaka is controlling from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tanaka is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Gunterson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Tanaka avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gunterson gets a clinch.
Gunterson misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Tanaka.
Tanaka tries to pull guard but Gunterson forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Gunterson fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Tanaka stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A bit of stalling here from Tanaka.
Tanaka jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gunterson walks away with a smile on his face. Tanaka gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Tanaka forces Gunterson back against the cage and clinches.
Tanaka keeps control of Gunterson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Gunterson has picked Tanaka up - he's going for a ride! Gunterson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Gunterson is looking to control the position but Tanaka frees his trapped leg and locks up an armbar from the bottom! It looks tight! Gunterson grimaces and holds on for a second but is forced to tap or have his arm broken! Slick Jiu Jitsu from Tanaka there - Gunterson really paying for some sloppy defensive work!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Daichi Tanaka!
