Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ahmed Toprak (ranked 2359 p4p, 4105 weight class) and Charles Pereira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Charles Pereira!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereira with a poor takedown
and Toprak cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pereira pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Toprak was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Toprak avoids the head kick by Pereira.
Toprak throwing a counter right hand but Pereira manages to avoid it.
Pereira misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pereira fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Toprak on the side of the head.
Pereira misses with a takedown attempt
and Toprak counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Nice defenses there by Pereira.
Charles Pereira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pereira shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Toprak defends it nicely.
Toprak was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Ahmed Toprak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Pereira.
Pereira looks winded!
Pereira tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pereira moves out of range as Toprak strikes.

It looks like Charles Pereira has been cut.

Toprak misses with a looping right.
Toprak bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pereira's head.
Pereira is rocked!

and Toprak scores with a counter punch that sends Pereira to the canvas! Toprak smells blood - he's punishing Pereira with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Pereira has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ahmed Toprak was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
