Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferguson tries to keep at a distance but Duterte has taken the fight into the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Duterte fails to land.
Ferguson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

It looks like Rodrigo Duterte has been cut.
Duterte wants to clinch.
Duterte is looking to clinch but Ferguson is avoiding it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ferguson quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Duterte closes the distance but Ferguson moves to the side
enabling Ferguson to counter with a crisp jab.

Rodrigo Duterte seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Duterte fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ferguson, pushing him back against the cage.
Ferguson swings wildly with an uppercut but Duterte uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ferguson lands a nice shot to the body.

Duterte looks winded!
Ferguson scores with a hook to the body.

Ferguson lands a right hand that snaps the head of Duterte backwards.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Duterte tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Ferguson blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Ferguson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ferguson cracks Duterte with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Ferguson has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Duterte to stand back up!
That has opened up Rodrigo Duterte's cut even more.
Duterte wants to clinch but Ferguson slips to the side
and Ferguson counters with a right hand to the body.
Ferguson circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Duterte tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Ferguson wins by KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Niall Ferguson!

Rodrigo Duterte was interviewed post fight and said 'Don't worry I will be back!!'.
