We've been hearing good reports from Singleton's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Hozdic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Singleton seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Hozdic can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Singleton controls the pace.
Singleton seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hozdic for as long as he can get away with.
Our spies down at at HELLCADEMY inform us that Hozdic has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Hozdic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Singleton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Singleton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Singleton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Singleton tries to free his leg and advance position but Hozdic is retaining full guard.

Singleton sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Hozdic doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Singleton paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Hozdic - great work!
