The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kriel goes for a double leg but Pear avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Pear continues to drive forward.
Kriel is looking to take this one to the mat.
Still in the clinch, Pear scores with a nice short uppercut.
Kriel tries for a takedown but Pear manages to get underhooks.

A left hand lands to the body for Pear.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Pear creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Pear gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kriel.
