Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jesper Martensson (ranked 2764 p4p, 2791 weight class) and Ruslan Rzayev (ranked 282 p4p, 285 weight class). Martensson comes into the arena with Lil' Wayne - Drop The World blaring out of the sound system. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Atkins and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martensson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

We've been hearing good reports from Martensson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Martensson scores with a one two! Rzayev had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Rzayev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Martensson has his foot on Rzayev's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rzayev works his way back into a safe position though.
