Rivera comes into the arena with Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle) blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kyler Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Afrim Berisha!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berisha closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Berisha sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rivera is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Berisha working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Rivera is not content to let Berisha control the position.
Rivera avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Berisha.
Rivera knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Berisha on the ground.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Berisha connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Rivera some visible discomfort.

Rivera's coaches at Cozad MMA Los Angeles have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Berisha postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Berisha tries to score with some ground and pound. Rivera controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Berisha slips a nice elbow through Rivera's hands, connecting with Rivera's forehead.

Berisha lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Rivera! More strikes land and this one is all over! Berisha jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Kyler Rivera spoke after the fight, saying 'I could have done better, and I'm disappointed in that performance I just had. But we'll get better. I just got to keep working cuh.'.
