Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Soon Tu Yu (ranked 4263 p4p, 5113 weight class) and Tucker Rosales (ranked 292 p4p, 323 weight class). Tucker Rosales is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Soon Tu Yu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tucker Rosales!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rosales bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Yu sneaks back into half guard.
Yu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Yu works his way to full guard. Good work.
Rosales has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Yu is proving hard to escape from.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rosales drops back, looking for a kneebar! Yu looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Yu looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Yu!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rosales is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Yu asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Yu throws an elbow but Rosales slips to the side and avoids it well.

Yu creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Rosales sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Rosales really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rosales is trying to control Yu's posture but Yu avoids it.
Rosales regains half guard, as Yu was trying to land strikes.
Rosales is looking for a sweep. Yu is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Yu thows a huge punch but Rosales dodges it nicely.
Yu thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rosales's head.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Yu looks to land a strike but Rosales avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Yu shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rosales is trying to defend but Yu finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Yu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Yu wants to work for an arm triangle but Rosales is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Yu throws a right and a left that Rosales avoids nicely.

Rosales had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Yu defends it easily.
Yu prevents Rosales from getting back to his feet.
Rosales has momentary wrist control but Yu slips an elbow through the middle.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rosales is looking to stand up but Yu isn't so interested in that idea.
Rosales avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Yu stands up over Rosales, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Yu postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Yu loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Yu is stalling in the full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Rosales closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rosales lands in his opponent's guard.

Yu wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Rosales won't allow Yu to sweep him here.
Yu is pulling down on Rosales's head. It's preventing any offense from Rosales, at least for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Yu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rosales manages to get himself to full guard.
Yu postures up in Rosales's guard and throws a big left but Rosales blocks it.
Yu might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Rosales is trying to keep Yu in close.
Yu works over Rosales with some ground and pound from guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rosales keeping moving, preventing Yu from controlling successfully.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Yu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rosales is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Yu controlling the position well.

Yu postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Rosales covers up, he's hurt! Yu keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Yu and the ref steps in to end the fight! Yu can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

An out of breath Soon Tu Yu thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
