Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tatsura Onigawa (ranked 2448 p4p, 3636 weight class) and Samuel Woodward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tatsura Onigawa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatsura Onigawa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Samuel Woodward! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Onigawa fails with a takedown attempt. Woodward drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Onigawa defends it well.
Onigawa gets caught flat footed, as Woodward shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Onigawa is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Woodward throwing strikes from guard but Onigawa blocks nicely.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Woodward lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Onigawa keeping moving, preventing Woodward from controlling successfully. Woodward working some strikes from top position. Onigawa being controlled here, momentarily.
Onigawa looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Woodward stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Onigawa swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Woodward stands up over Onigawa, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Woodward working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Onigawa's head. Woodward connects with a couple of short punches. Woodward throws a strike but Onigawa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Woodward wants to stand and escape but Onigawa is having none of it. Woodward can't keep his opponent in guard - Onigawa advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Woodward wants to get back to full guard. Onigawa trying to pass the guard but Woodward defending well. Woodward wants to improve his position but Onigawa is controlling well.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Woodward is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Woodward really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Onigawa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Woodward misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Woodward is looking for a sweep. Onigawa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Woodward is defending against the submission attempts here by Onigawa.
Onigawa is pressing down on Woodward's thigh, looking to free his foot. Woodward is holding on for now. We've been hearing good reports from Onigawa's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Onigawa is looking for a kimura here.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Woodward is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Woodward trying to control here.
Onigawa looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Woodward is defending against the submission attempts here by Onigawa.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Woodward can do anything to dispel that myth. Onigawa passes the guard and advances to mount! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Onigawa is trying to take his opponent's back.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tatsura Onigawa dominated that round. That's time! Onigawa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Woodward misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Onigawa shoots in looking for a takedown. Woodward tries to sprawl out of it but Onigawa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Woodward manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Woodward changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Onigawa tries to keep at a distance but Woodward has taken the fight into the clinch.
 That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Onigawa is fighting off a takedown attempt but Woodward is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Onigawa to the mat. Onigawa regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Onigawa wriggles free and stands up.
Woodward looking to score a takedown here. Onigawa is defending well but Woodward drives through and ends up in Onigawa's guard. Onigawa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Onigawa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Woodward throws a big elbow that misses. Woodward cracks Onigawa with a solid left hand. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Onigawa looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Woodward wants to control from the top but Onigawa keeps moving. Tatsura Onigawa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Woodward works over Onigawa with some ground and pound from guard. Woodward working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Woodward distracts Onigawa with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Woodward must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Onigawa has his foot on Woodward's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Woodward works his way back into a safe position though.
Woodward stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Onigawa throws up his legs and catches Woodward in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Woodward tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Onigawa! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Tatsura Onigawa!
