This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 40 wins and 25 losses; Anderson Da Silva! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 19 wins and 17 losses; Kent Dew! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Dillan Fox.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Da Silva stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Da Silva wants it to stay on the feet. Da Silva attempts a counter takedown but Dew avoids it well and moves away. Da Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dew swivels and escapes. Dew is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Dew shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Da Silva sprawls well. Da Silva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dew gets slowly back to his feet.

Da Silva has his hands clasped together around Dew's back. He's all about the action. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Da Silva has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Da Silva is looking for a sweep. Dew is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dew content to control rather than advance. Dew wants to pass the guard but Da Silva is defending well. Dew controlling the action here.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Dew wants to free his trapped foot but Da Silva is holding on for dear life with his legs. Da Silva is trying to get back to full guard. Dew controlling the pace. Da Silva is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Freddy\'s Grappling Institute, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Da Silva is holding on to half guard well. Dew content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Dew wants to pass to mount but Da Silva is defending the position.
 That's five minutes gone in the round. Da Silva is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Da Silva won't allow Dew to pass to mount. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dew in particular looking to stall. Dew trying to pass the guard but Da Silva defending well.
 That's six minutes gone in the round. Da Silva trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Score +3 for passing guard: Da Silva (0) vs (5) Dew Da Silva wants to control but Dew is having none of it. Dew sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Da Silva is in all sorts of trouble here.
 That's seven minutes gone in the round. Dew controlling the position easily from mount. Da Silva is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Da Silva tries to hold on but Dew pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
 That's eight minutes gone in the round. Dew tries to control but Da Silva wriggling away. Da Silva tries to control Dew's body but Dew pushes him off. Da Silva squirms to his side and now Dew has his back! Score +3 for taking back: Da Silva (0) vs (8) Dew Da Silva tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Dew tries to control but Da Silva wriggling away. Da Silva wants to hold on but Dew pushes him away.
 That's nine minutes gone in the round. Dew prevents Da Silva from getting the reversal. Dew trying to control but he's not successful this time. Da Silva sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Dew is figuring out what he wants to do next. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
 That's ten minutes gone in the round. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Da Silva wants to control but Dew is keeping busy.
Da Silva is staying active underneath Dew, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
 That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Da Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dew is working away from the top position though. Da Silva is pressing down on Dew's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Dew trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dew is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
 That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Dew has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Da Silva controlling the position. Dew wants to control from the top but Da Silva keeps moving. Dew slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.  That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here as Dew stalls from top position. Da Silva gets back to half guard. Dew trying to mount his opponent but Da Silva defends it.
 That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Dew seems content to control. Da Silva regains full guard. Nicely done. Da Silva pulls Dew in close to his closed guard and prevents Dew from doing any damage or advancing position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Da Silva controls Dew momentarily but Dew frees himself.
And that's the end of the fight! Dew wins on points by 11 to 0. |
