This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 32 wins and 13 losses; Rickson Hozdic! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 100 wins and 63 losses; Tyron Scott! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Hozdic shoots in and drives through. Scott sprawls well. And Scott tries to counter it with a takedown but Hozdic pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Scott shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Hozdic (0) vs (2) Scott Hozdic trying to control but Scott postures up.
Hozdic is controlling Scott's trapped leg to prevent Scott from advancing to side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hozdic is looking to improve his position.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Hozdic is trying to improve his position. Hozdic looking for a sweep but Scott has passed into full mount! Oh no! Score +2 for reaching mount: Hozdic (0) vs (7) Scott Hozdic wants to hold on but Scott pushes him away. Hozdic is looking to improve his position but Scott isn't that keen on the idea. My spies in Ze Gym inform me that Scott has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Scott content just to control the position here. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. It looks like Scott might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Scott wants to control the pace but Hozdic is squirming around nicely. Hozdic tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hozdic sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Hozdic is pressing down on Scott's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Scott trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Scott has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Hozdic to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Scott is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Hozdic pulls down on the head and he's put Scott to sleep! This one is all over!
