The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tully is looking to take a break and control but Cortez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cortez is controlling Tully's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Tully wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cortez keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cortez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Cortez is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Let's hope that Cortez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Tully wants to improve his position but Cortez is controlling well.

Tully is looking for a sweep. Cortez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Cortez moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Tully.

Tully seems a little lost for a moment, as Cortez dominates the positioning.
My spies in Average Judas Gym inform me that Cortez has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Tully is looking to reverse the position.
Cortez happy to just control the position for now.
It looks like Cortez might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Tully manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Tully is trying to escape the mount but Cortez keeps good control and instead manages to take Tully's back.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

The adventures of Cortez the control monster continue. Boring.
Tully can't escape the position.
I would not like to be Tully right now.
Tully is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Cortez trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Tully doesn't escape.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Cortez.
Tully tries to break free.
Cortez has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Tully's body.

Tully fending off the submission attempt from Cortez.
Tully rolls, trying to escape but Cortez keeps control of the position.
Cortez just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Tully is trying to break free.
Cortez really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Tully.
Cortez has the hooks in. Tully is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Tully just trying to survive but Cortez is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Cortez is riding his opponent, not letting Tully buck him off.

That's fourteen minutes gone in the round.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
Cortez wins on points by 15 to 6.
After the fight, Don Cortez was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
