Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Thomas (ranked 3957 p4p, 25402 weight class) and Dillon Dennie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Dillon Dennie enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Thomas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dillon Dennie! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Dennie. Those never looked like landing. Dennie misses with a double jab.
As Dennie tries to get set, Thomas tries to push him back and clinch up but Dennie manages to avoid the attempt. Dennie throws a left and a right that both miss
and Thomas counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Thomas breaks the clinch.
Dennie looks to throw the jab but Thomas is out of range. Dennie misses with a double jab
and Thomas counters by moving into the clinch.
Thomas jumps guard and drags Dennie to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Thomas seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Thomas has a closed guard, preventing Dennie from standing up. Thomas controlling the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thomas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Thomas wants to stand and escape but Dennie is having none of it.
 That's one minute gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Thomas is on top in guard.

Thomas gets to his feet - Dennie follows without any prompting. Thomas throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Dennie on the side of the head.
 It looks like Dillon Dennie has been cut. Dillon Dennie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dennie throws a right and a left that both miss. Sloppy strikes from Dennie. Those never looked like landing. Dennie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Thomas moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Dennie looks winded! Dennie misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Thomas drives through and clinches with Dennie against the cage.
Thomas pulls guard effortlessly. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Thomas is on top in guard.
 The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Thomas working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dennie's head. Thomas controlling from the top position.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Thomas postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Thomas lands a couple of digs. Thomas passes easily into side control. Nice work. Thomas controls the position from side control.
Thomas decides to stand back up. Thomas steps back and let's Dennie get back to his feet.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. A combination from Dennie does no damage.
Thomas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Thomas stalling. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dennie can do anything to dispel that myth. Thomas's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Thomas passes the guard and advances to mount! Thomas with shots to the head and body - Dennie looks very uncomfortable down there.
Thomas working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Dennie turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Thomas off and cradles Dennie's limp body as Thomas celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Jack Thomas!
