Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Helen Salvacion (ranked 23420 p4p, 24949 weight class) and Charles Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charles Ribeiro is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 57 - 70 - 11, fighting out of Las Vegas, Helen Salvacion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charles Ribeiro!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Ribeiro looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Salvacion jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Ribeiro tries for a takedown but Salvacion sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Salvacion quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Ribeiro moves to clinch but Salvacion breaks away
and Salvacion counters with a nice kick to the body.
Salvacion shoots for a takedown but Ribeiro saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ribeiro moves into the clinch successfully.

Ribeiro's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Ribeiro drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Salvacion doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Ribeiro is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
It looks like Ribeiro might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Salvacion trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Salvacion wants to control but Ribeiro is keeping busy.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Salvacion is defending against the submission attempts here by Ribeiro.

Ribeiro is controlling the pace.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Ribeiro goes for a double leg but Salvacion avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Salvacion continues to drive forward.
Salvacion quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Salvacion shoots in and drives through. Ribeiro sprawls well.

Salvacion gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ribeiro to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Ribeiro trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Salvacion knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ribeiro on the ground.
Ribeiro is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Ribeiro content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Ribeiro controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Ribeiro drops back, looking for a kneebar! Salvacion looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Salvacion looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Salvacion!

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Salvacion wants to control but Ribeiro is keeping him busy.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Salvacion throws a quick counter head kick but Ribeiro was just out of range.
Horrible takedown attempt by Salvacion or perhaps it was just good defense by Ribeiro, which made it look bad.

Ribeiro moves into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ribeiro manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Ribeiro breaks the clinch.
Salvacion fails with the takedown.
A little jabbing left from Ribeiro on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Ribeiro closes the distance and clinches.
Salvacion changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ribeiro fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Helen Salvacion. That's going to take a lot out of him.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Salvacion gets tackled into the cage by Ribeiro. Ribeiro maintains the clinch.

Ribeiro tightens his grip and picks Salvacion up, before dumping him to the ground. Salvacion manages to land in guard.
Salvacion can't keep his opponent in guard - Ribeiro advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Ribeiro is breathing heavily.
Well, if Ribeiro is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.
Salvacion trying to hold on to Ribeiro's head to control him but Ribeiro postures up.

Ribeiro keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Salvacion preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Ribeiro content to control rather than advance.
Salvacion is trying to control but can't.
Ribeiro looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Ribeiro has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No luck for Salvacion with that takedown attempt.

Ribeiro moves into the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Charles Ribeiro showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Ribeiro clinches up with Salvacion and pushes him back against the cage.

Ribeiro pulls guard successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ribeiro controlling the position.
Let's hope that Ribeiro has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Salvacion looking to sit in guard and control but Ribeiro gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ribeiro is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Salvacion is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Salvacion has escaped and now he's on top!

Charles Ribeiro has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ribeiro takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ribeiro is pulling down on Salvacion's head. It's preventing any offense from Salvacion, at least for the moment.

Salvacion trying to control the position from guard on top but Ribeiro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Salvacion being controlled here momentarily.
Ribeiro can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Salvacion controls the pace.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Salvacion keeps the fight on the outside.
Ribeiro moves to clinch but Salvacion breaks away
and Salvacion makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Helen Salvacion has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Nice sprawl there from Ribeiro as Salvacion shoots in.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Charles Ribeiro comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Ribeiro winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
