This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 18 wins and 20 losses; Zurab Nozadzi! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 23 wins and 14 losses; Mecilvus Gabenagus! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Gabenagus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nozadzi's waist but Nozadzi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gabenagus off to one side. Nozadzi slaps away a takedown attempt from Gabenagus, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gabenagus tries to keep at a distance but Nozadzi has taken the fight into the clinch. Nozadzi can't get the takedown.
Nozadzi prevents a takedown attempt there.
Zurab Nozadzi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mecilvus Gabenagus.
Nozadzi turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Nozadzi manages to end up in side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Nozadzi (4) vs (0) Gabenagus Nozadzi wants to control for a moment but Gabenagus uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Gabenagus looking for submissions from an awkward position here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gabenagus won't allow Nozadzi to pass to mount. Nozadzi is looking to take a break and control but Gabenagus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gabenagus actively working from the bottom here. Nozadzi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gabenagus does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We've been hearing good reports from Nozadzi's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Gabenagus is looking to improve his position.
Gabenagus is refusing to be controlled, as Nozadzi sits in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nozadzi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gabenagus defends it well. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Nozadzi with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Gabenagus moves into full guard.

Gabenagus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nozadzi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Gabenagus controls Nozadzi momentarily but Nozadzi frees himself. Nozadzi wants to control from the top but Gabenagus keeps moving.
Nozadzi is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Gabenagus has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Nozadzi is looking to defend but Gabenagus has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Nozadzi! Gabenagus pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Nozadzi taps out and this one is all over!
