PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Roc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Do Amaral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Pedro Do Amaral was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Do Amaral!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roc shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Do Amaral takes the fight into the clinch.
Roc tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Knees in the clinch landing for Do Amaral.
Do Amaral landing knees to the head.
Roc is breathing heavily.
Do Amaral tries to land a knee to the head but Roc blocks with his arms.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Roc looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Do Amaral is fending him off so far but Roc persists. Nope, Do Amaral circles away and we're back to standing.

Roc shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Roc was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Roc looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Roc has control of Do Amaral's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Do Amaral regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Do Amaral is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Roc looking for a guillotine from mount but Do Amaral is having none of it.

Roc swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Do Amaral is now in Roc's guard. A big mistake from Roc there, giving up the dominant position!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Do Amaral postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

That's time! Roc's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Roc counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Do Amaral!

Roc unloads with some shots from mount but Do Amaral bucks and avoids them well.

Roc can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Do Amaral is looking to escape.

Do Amaral must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Roc goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Do Amaral has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Roc but great work by Do Amaral.

Roc drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Do Amaral dives on top into guard.

Roc has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Do Amaral can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
