Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jose Castellanos (ranked 435 p4p, 702 weight class) and Puna Soriano (ranked 52 p4p, 86 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Soriano's choice of entrance music: Highwayman- The Highwaymen. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Castellanos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Puna Soriano!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soriano takes one to the side of the head.
It looks like Puna Soriano has been cut.
Castellanos throws a combination that misses
enabling Soriano to counter with a crisp jab.
Castellanos moves out of range as Soriano strikes.
Puna Soriano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Soriano closes the distance and clinches.
Soriano throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Castellanoss head.
Soriano tries a knee to the head but Castellanos blocks it.
Soriano is working for takedown but Castellanos is calmly controlling the position for now.
Castellanos misses with a short punch on the inside.
Castellanos lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Soriano swings wildly with an uppercut but Castellanos uses good head movement to avoid it.
I was talking to Castellanos's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Soriano tries to land knees in the clinch but Castellanos avoids the damage to the body.

Castellanos manages to break the clinch.
Soriano scoring well with a low kick there.
Soriano pushes Castellanos away with a front kick.
Soriano fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Castellanos throws a hook but Soriano avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Castellanos throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Soriano counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Soriano dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Castellanos. That did some damage!
Soriano tries to score a power double leg takedown but Castellanos sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Soriano somewhat.
Jose Castellanos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Puna Soriano.
Soriano fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Castellanos manages to avoid it.
Soriano doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Castellanos counters with a stiff right hand.
Soriano swings for the body but Castellanos moves out of range.
Jose Castellanos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Castellanos dips to his left and cracks Soriano with an uppercut!
Castellanos cracks a nice hook into Soriano's ribs.
Soriano pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Castellanos throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Soriano sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Castellanos connects with a superb combination that knocks Soriano out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Castellanos before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Soriano!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jose Castellanos!
