Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Laurel (ranked 5207 p4p, 1413 weight class) and Trevon Mcdowell (ranked 464 p4p, 153 weight class). Trevon Mcdowell is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Trevon Mcdowell!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcdowell fails with the takedown.
Laurel clinches.
Laurel gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mcdowell.
Mcdowell is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Laurel gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Brandon Laurel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trevon Mcdowell.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Laurel.
Laurel scores with a knee to the head.
Laurel is fighting off a takedown attempt but Mcdowell is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Laurel to the mat. Laurel regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Laurel definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Laurel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Laurel wants to stand and escape but Mcdowell is having none of it.

Laurel thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Laurel is rocked!
Mcdowell loads up on a big left hand. Laurel felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Mcdowell looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Laurel can't hide his disappointment, as Mcdowell celebrates the victory.
