This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 37 wins and 15 losses; Rickson Hozdic! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 105 wins and 65 losses; Tyron Scott! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Paul Tew and Phil Schofield.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Hozdic decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Hozdic (2) vs (0) Scott Hozdic looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Hozdic tries to pass to full mount but Scott defends it. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Hozdic's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Hozdic content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Scott felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Hozdic wants to pass the guard but Scott is defending well. Scott is holding on to half guard well. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Hozdic seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Scott for as long as he can get away with. Scott tries to roll over but Hozdic keeps him under control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hozdic has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Hozdic looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Hozdic is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Hozdic continues to stall. Hozdic is trying to control the action in half guard but Scott is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

 That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Hozdic is stinking the place up with his stalling. Hozdic trying to mount his opponent but Scott defends it. Hozdic is taking a breather. Scott says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hozdic tries to pass the half guard into mount. Scott knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
