Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diego Veron (ranked 3517 p4p, 4457 weight class) and Jon Jones (ranked 399 p4p, 462 weight class). Jon Jones told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Diego Veron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Veron napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Veron controls the position for a moment.
Veron is looking to regain half guard here but Jones keeps moving and retains side control.
Veron is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Jones is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Veron tries to reverse the position but Jones maintains control.
Jones throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Jones is trying to stick to Veron's back but Veron is turning into Jones. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Jones's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Veron.
Veron is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Veron stands up over Jones, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Our spies down at at Punchin N\' Chockin inform us that Jones has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

That was a close round but I would say that Diego Veron will probably get the nod.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jones seems a little lost for a moment, as Veron dominates the positioning.

Veron is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Jones's shoulder. That is not cool.

Diego Veron overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Veron seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jones for as long as he can get away with.
Veron lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Jones.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Veron connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Jones to escape the position.
Veron is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Jones. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Jones is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Veron.

Veron is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Veron gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Veron gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Veron apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Veron looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Veron manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jones's best efforts.
Veron is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jones pulls his head out easily.
Veron is trying to stand up here but Jones is controlling him well.
