This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 34 wins and 15 losses; Anderson Da Silva! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jonathan Paton and John Roberts.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Alopodis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Alopodis tries for a takedown but Da Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Da Silva has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Horrible takedown attempt by Da Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Alopodis, which made it look bad.
Alopodis gets caught napping as Da Silva dives in and scores a takedown. Alopodis manages to retain guard. And that's the end of the fight! Alopodis takes the fight on points by 8 to 2. Ceph Alopodis really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Urban Fighter logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty. |
