Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Adam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes into a darkened arena with his song building. War Machine kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adam dives in and grabs Smith's left leg, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes down on Adam's head and hops out.
Adam misses with a wild combination.

Adam fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Smith, pushing him back against the cage.

Adam turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Smith wants to get back to his feet but Adam drags him back down.

Smith wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Smith blocks a head kick by Adam.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee stands the fighters back up. James Adam just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Smith keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Smith wants to clinch but Adam slips to the side

Smith misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Adam swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Adam has Smith pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Adam pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Smith tumbling to the mat - Adam dives into Smith's guard.

Adam slips a nice elbow through Smith's hands, connecting with Smith's forehead.

James Adam showed his dominance in that final round.
