PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lou Fertit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Asmir Zslevski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fertit comes into the arena with Chop Suey blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lou Fertit!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Asmir Zslevski!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Zslevski. No joy for Fertit on that attempt.

Fertit decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Fertit is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Zslevski defends it well.

Zslevski has his foot on Fertit's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fertit works his way back into a safe position though.

Fertit tries to buck Zslevski off but Zslevski is having none of it.

Zslevski tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Zslevski has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Fertit trying his best to control but Zslevski has mounted him.

Zslevski is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Fertit has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Zslevski is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fertit defends well.

Zslevski had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Fertit is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Zslevski Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Fertit's back instead.

Fertit is pushing down on Zslevski's leg trying to pass to half guard. Zslevski is fighting to maintain full guard but Fertit has managed to sneak the leg through.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

I really don't envy Fertit right now.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
