The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
chops shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Overeem pinned against the cage. Overeem gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
chops shoots for a double leg takedown but Overeem sprawls well. He's pushed chops's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

chops had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Overeem is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. chops Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Overeem's back instead.

chops is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Overeem defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Overeem has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing chops to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Overeem is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - chops pulls down on the head and he's put Overeem to sleep! This one is all over!
