In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 11 wins and 4 losses; Ryan Gordon! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Jackie Chan!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Gordon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Chan circles away.

Chan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gordon pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chan tries to roll over but Gordon keeps him under control.
Gordon perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Gordon wants to free his trapped foot but Chan is holding on for dear life with his legs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Chan is looking for a triangle but Gordon pushes his legs off easily.
Gordon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gordon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Chan's guard.

Gordon is taking a breather. Chan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Chan wants to improve his position but Gordon is controlling well.

Gordon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Chan is controlling an arm, preventing Gordon from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

I really don't envy Chan right now.

Chan is fighting to break Gordon's control of his arms but Gordon is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Gordon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Gordon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chan manages to get himself to full guard.
