Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Short (ranked 5514 p4p, 4790 weight class) and Lenny Limdix (ranked 465 p4p, 436 weight class). Peter Short has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Short!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lenny Limdix!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Limdix tries to close the distance and clinch but Short swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Short drives through and clinches with Limdix against the cage.
Short is trying to pull guard but Limdix turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Limdix is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Short jumps into guard, dragging Limdix to the mat.
Short keeping moving, preventing Limdix from controlling successfully.

Short escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Limdix gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Limdix wants to control from the top but Short keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Short is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Limdix is controlling him.

My spies in Xtreme Fighting Gym inform me that Limdix has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Short is on top in guard.

Short wants to stand but Limdix is controlling his posture from full guard.

Short has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Limdix can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Limdix tries to free his leg and advance position but Short is retaining full guard.

Limdix really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Short. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Short is trying to control the position but Limdix postures up.
Short tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Short trying to keep a closed guard but Limdix is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Limdix blocks a head kick by Short.
Short changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Limdix tries to avoid it but Short manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Limdix to the ground. Limdix escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Limdix dives in and grabs Short's left leg, looking for a takedown. Short pushes down on Limdix's head and hops out.
Limdix misses with a takedown attempt - Short sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Peter Short has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lenny Limdix.

Limdix closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Short tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

That was a close round but I would say that Peter Short will probably get the nod.

We've been hearing good reports from Short's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Limdix regains half guard.
Short takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Short is looking to take a break and control but Limdix is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Short thows a huge punch but Limdix dodges it nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Limdix has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Short is working away from the top position though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Peter Short is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Short.
Limdix fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Short throws a half hearted mid kick.

Limdix fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Short sprawls well initially but Limdix persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Limdix tries to pass the half guard into mount. Short knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Short is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Limdix pulls his head out easily.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Limdix lands a nice short elbow.
Limdix wants to get back to his feet.
Well, if Limdix is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Short wants to control but Limdix is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Short tries to kick Limdix off but Limdix keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The fighters are battling for position here. Short manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Limdix gets to his feet. Short looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

That's time! Short's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Short closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Limdix to the mat! Limdix manages to get full guard.

Limdix has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Short has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Limdix breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Short keeps the fight on the outside.
Short looks for a takedown but Limdix sprawls well.
Limdix wants to counter with a clinch but Short pushes him away.
Nice takedown defense from Limdix. No joy for Short on that attempt.
Limdix now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Limdix tried to score with a low kick but Short checks it.
Short thinks about countering with a body kick.

Limdix feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
