The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paysley tries to keep at a distance but Kawiwasulu has taken the fight into the clinch.

Kawiwasulu works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Kawiwasulu has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Kawiwasulu postures up in Paysley's guard and throws a big left but Paysley blocks it.
Kawiwasulu trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kawiwasulu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Paysley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kawiwasulu postures up in Paysley's guard and throws a big left but Paysley blocks it.
Kawiwasulu throws an elbow that misses. Paysley uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kawiwasulu's guard. Nice move by Paysley!

Kawiwasulu wants to stand but Paysley is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Paysley tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Paysley has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
