Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anthoniii Joshua (ranked 2434 p4p, 4284 weight class) and John King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John King will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthoniii Joshua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John King!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King throws a right hand that Joshua ducks under and follows up with a left that Joshua also avoids with ease.
It looked like Joshua was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from King.
King throws a series of punches but Joshua moves out of range.
Joshua throwing a counter right hand but King manages to avoid it.
King fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
An attempted straight right counter from Joshua misses the target.

King has Joshua up against the cage in a clinch.
King blocks a body shot from Joshua.
A short body shot lands from Joshua as the two fighters clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Joshua is working King over against the cage.
Joshua tries to work over King's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Joshua lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

King is looking to control Joshua's arms but Joshua gets an underhook and turns him. Now King has his back to the cage.

King dives in for a single leg takedown but Joshua sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
King throws a chopping leg kick but Joshua manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
It looked like Joshua was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
King shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Joshua connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like John King has been cut.
King misses with a takedown
and Joshua counters with a left to the body.

King tries to clinch

and Joshua counters with a series of strikes that sends King to the canvas! Joshua follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

King is rocked!
Joshua looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

King is still in real trouble! Can Joshua finish him?
King has a closed guard, preventing Joshua from standing up.
Joshua trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Joshua is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because King is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

and Joshua cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
King looks for a takedown but Joshua sprawls well.
As King looks to move away, Joshua throws a big counter combo but King just gets out of the way.
King misses with a lunging right hand
and Joshua counters with a stiff right hand.
King doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Joshua to counter with a crisp jab.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if King can do anything to dispel that myth.

Joshua has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, King works to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

King shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Joshua napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Joshua is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, King asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Well Joshua has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
