The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz scores with a sloppy right hand. Jones should have avoided that one.
Jones misses the jab.
Jones misses with a takedown attempt
and Ortiz counters with an outside leg kick.
Jones shoots in looking for a takedown but Ortiz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jones's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Ortiz dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Ortiz throws a jab but it's blocked by Jones.
Jones goes for a double leg but Ortiz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ortiz continues to drive forward.
Ortiz looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Jones looks to land a left hand but Ortiz moved out of range nicely.
Ortiz tried to counter with a leg kick but Jones avoided it.

Ortiz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ortiz wants it to stay on the feet.
Ortiz throws a big counter combination but Jones scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Ortiz tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Jones dives in for a single leg takedown but Ortiz sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Ortiz lands a left and a right that send Jones crashing to the mat, dazed. Ortiz thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Jones swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jones takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
