PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ernest Chabot (ranked 3095 p4p, 3462 weight class) and Adriel Rojas (ranked 317 p4p, 348 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Adriel Rojas enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ernest Chabot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adriel Rojas!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rojas throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rojas just misses with a punch to the body.
Rojas swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rojas uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Chabot changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rojas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rojas can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chabot seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rojas for as long as he can get away with.

Chabot slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rojas is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chabot has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Rojas catches Chabot with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Chabot closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rojas to the mat! Rojas manages to get full guard.

Chabot tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Chabot has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Rojas's body.
More hug and hope from Chabot.
Chabot's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Further stalling from Chabot.
Ernest Chabot overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rojas is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

What can Rojas do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Chabot is stinking the place up with his stalling.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chabot, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
