PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Graeme Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Graeme Chase!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson shoots in looking for a takedown. Chase tries to sprawl out of it but Anderson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Chase manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Chase lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Anderson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Chase.
Anderson fails to land the takedown.
Horrible takedown by Anderson or perhaps it was just good defense by Chase which made him look bad.
Graeme Chase has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Anderson.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anderson manages to get back to half guard.
Anderson wants to improve his position but Chase is controlling well.

and Chase counters with a good low kick that Anderson was not able to check.
Chase misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Chase sizes up Anderson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Chase rushes Anderson and presses him up against the cage.

Chase breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Anderson shoots in and bounces Chase off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Anderson is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Chase has managed to free his arm - good work.
Chase misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Chase might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Chase tries to kick Anderson off but Anderson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Anderson moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Chase.
Anderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chase keeps working.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Anderson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Chase is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Anderson is trying to get an arm triangle but Chase is defending well.
Chase tries to buck Anderson off but Anderson is having none of it.
Chase defending against the ground and pound.

Anderson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Chase holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Chase pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Chase feints and as Anderson raises his hands in defense, Chase changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Chase gets to his feet - Anderson follows without any prompting.
Anderson throws a body kick that misses.

Anderson scores with a takedown into Chase's guard.

Anderson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Anderson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Anderson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Chase keeping moving, preventing Anderson from controlling successfully.
Anderson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Chase works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Chase looking to hit a scissor sweep but Anderson is one step ahead there.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Chase misses with a wild combination.

Anderson takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

and Chase holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Anderson tries to score a body lock takedown but Chase shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Graeme Chase has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Anderson.

Anderson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Chase is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Anderson to the mat. Anderson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Chase knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Anderson on the ground.

Anderson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Chase is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Anderson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Chase's back instead.

Anderson is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Chase knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Chase for a finish.

Anderson has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Chase! Can he survive? No! He's out! Anderson gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
