Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lamont Chen (ranked 4087 p4p, 25615 weight class) and Cruz Laime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laime has chosen Chambea as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lamont Chen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 11 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cruz Laime!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Laime swinging wildly here.
Chen really is a fat lump.
Chen scores with a takedown into Laime's guard.
Chen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Laime swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Laime looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Chen stays in close to Laime's body and controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chen drops back looking for a leg! Laime is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Laime manages to kick Chen off! Chen jumps back into Laime's guard.
Laime trying to keep a closed guard but Chen is proving a slippery customer.
Laime preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Chen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Laime is keeping the position for now.
Chen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Chen gets to his feet. Laime looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Laime lands with a kick to the ribs.
Laime throws a head kick but Chen moves out of range.
Laime throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Chen.
It looks like Lamont Chen has been cut.
Nice body kick there by Laime.
Chen takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Chen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Laime but Laime pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Chen on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Laime shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Chen eats them both and turns towards Laime to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Laime swinging wildly here.
A combination from Laime does no damage.
Laime looks winded!

Laime throws a nice outside leg kick.
Cruz Laime seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chen looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Chen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Laime is keeping the position for now.
Chen lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Chen throwing strikes but missing.
Chen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Laime scores with a jab to the jaw.
Laime fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Cruz Laime dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Lamont Chen's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Chen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Laime's guard.
Chen throws a big right hand that misses.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Chen postures up in Laime's guard and throws a big left but Laime blocks it.
Chen slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Chen gets to his feet. Laime looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Laime has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Good work by Chen as he checks the leg kick.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Chen.
Laime is breathing heavily.

Laime is looking for a sweep.
Chen decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Laime pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Chen back to the cage. Laime follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Chen shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Chen seems content to control.

Chen works his foot free and advances to mount.
Chen punching from mount but Laime doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Chen looking to control and managing it successfully.
Chen working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Laime looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Chen! Submission of the night perhaps?

Cruz Laime spoke after the fight, saying 'This ain't over yet...'.
